College Introduction & Location
Located in the heart of Dhaka city at 65 Central Road, Dhanmondi, Ideal College was established in 1969 as a model educational institution free from smoking and politics. The college offers quality education at the Higher Secondary level in Science, Business Studies, and Humanities, and at the Bachelor’s (Honours) level in Bangla, English, Management, Economics, Political Science, Chemistry, BBA (Professional), and CSE (Professional).
Internal Features of the College
To ensure quality education, well-equipped classrooms are essential. Every spacious classroom of Ideal College is air-conditioned, equipped with a sound system, whiteboard, and monitored by CCTV cameras.
The college has a fully air-conditioned and spacious library with a collection of over ten thousand books. This CCTV-monitored library, with an aesthetic architectural design, accommodates up to 500 students at a time, providing a calm and quiet environment for study.
To enhance the quality of science education, Ideal College has separate laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, as well as a dedicated Math Lab for the Mathematics Department. These modern, well-equipped labs are operated under the supervision of experienced teachers and skilled instructors. In a fully air-conditioned and CCTV-monitored environment, students actively engage in necessary research activities. The college has a Computer Lab, equipped with state-of-the-art computers and advanced technology facilities, providing students with hands-on opportunities in information technology education and research.
During the COVID-19 lockdown and in any emergency situation, the college conducts classes through a modern digital studio. Classes are held using apps and softwares, Facebook, Google Meet, and other online platforms.
Two co-ordinator teachers are assigned to each section. They take students’ attendance, recommend leave approvals, ensure improvements in academic performance, and address all related issues of the respective section.
To keep the academic activities dynamic and maintain a healthy institutional environment, a roster team is formed under the supervision of a roster team leader. The college gate opens at least thirty minutes before classes start, under the presence of the roster team. They ensure that only students wearing the prescribed uniform and carrying proper identification enter the premises. The roster team also plays a vital role in maintaining discipline during tiffin periods and after classes.
The aesthetically designed, fully air-conditioned, and CCTV-monitored spacious auditorium of Ideal College hosts various cultural programs, meetings, seminars, symposiums, and theatrical performances. It plays an important role in conducting events during adverse weather conditions and promoting students’ extracurricular activities.
Keeping pace with the vision of a “Digital Bangladesh,” Ideal College uses advanced software to notify students and parents about attendance, examination results, urgent notices, exam schedules, and other important informations.
We believe that true education is not limited to textbooks alone. For the psychological growth and wellbeing of students, the college organizes sports, cultural programs, and various other co-curricular activities.
To develop students into self-reliant, skilled organizers with a strong sense of discipline, the college maintains an active Rover Scout team.
Separate facilities for indoor and outdoor sports are available for male and female students. Students also have the opportunity to participate in various events, inter-college, and national-level competitions.
To foster logical thinking, the college has a debating club run by teachers and students. Any interested student can participate and sharpen their debating skills.
To encourage science students, the college has an active Science Club guided by experienced teachers. The club has achieved remarkable success in various science fair competitions, winning more than 104 prizes and awards, including championship titles in multiple events.
To prepare Business Studies students to cope with the fast-paced commercial world, the college has a Commerce Club dedicated to enhancing their practical business knowledge.
The Ideal College Photography Club provides a platform for students to nurture their creativity. Through photo walks, workshops, and exhibitions, the club inspires students to develop photography skills and capture stories of campus life, nature, and culture.
The Ideal College Language Club enhances students’ communication skills by encouraging practice in English and other languages. It helps students become confident speakers and effective communicators for academic and professional success.
The Ideal College Arts & Crafts Club encourages students to explore their creativity through painting, drawing, and handicrafts. It provides opportunities for self-expression and showcases students’ imagination through exhibitions and art events.

The Ideal College Blood Donation Club is dedicated to humanitarian service by organizing regular blood donation programs. It instills a sense of social responsibility in students and encourages them to support those in need.
The college ensures uninterrupted electricity supply. In case of load-shedding, a high-powered generator is used. The eight-storey college building has two large lifts that can carry up to 30 students at a time, operating throughout the day to ensure safe and quick movement between floors.
